The origin of this team is unlike any I have ever heard about. It started on a popular paintball internet forum as just a group of guys and girls that wanted to show off their customized paintball markers and it snowballed from there. The brain child of two of the clubs members, Pat Hayes and James Faytol, the team has already achieved great success in the USPL league in two events. Follow the quick rise to the top of Division 3 ball with the Kustom Gunslinger Boyz Mob as they stop by the CatShack.

When one of the club members, Pat, wanted to play the USPL Huntington Beach event Jimmy grabbed the ball, took it and ran; putting together a group of legit players to participate in the event. The newly formed team took 8th place at HB and at the end of the day Davis XSV came up and told them that they were the hardest team to beat, and they only lost a single game during the entire day of play. This made the guys of K.G.B. feel amazingly proud of their performance, especially since the only team to beat Davis XSV was a team they rolled in about thirty seconds. An 8th place finish against some of the west coast’s best players in Division 3 is a great achievement for a newly formed team by anyone’s account.

The team then went into the West Coast Open riding a wave of pride and some newly formed welts from endless practices. In the event they took their skills and put them up against some of the toughest competition you will find, and came out in first place for the event. Now that is what you call climbing to the top of the hill with authority and making the paintball community take notice, in such a short period of time. Two other teams approached the Mob and told them they were the only team they respected that played the event in their division, and the reasoning behind this is because the Mob leaves it all on the field. What that means is no matter if they win or lose all of the smack talk, anger and aggressiveness is left on the field where it belongs. More teams should play like this.

The team rolled into the DC event for the USPL with an un-official KGB team thrown together with guys who had never met in person to fill out the roster. The other guys that played previously were from the west coast and could not make the event so instead of not fielding a team they pooled guys from the internet club again and set out to take the fields of DC. In the DC event the team took second place, setting the fields ablaze with quick shooting and quicker eliminations, which made the guys feel like they were on top of the world. And yet again the team earned the respect of other teams with their game play and their attitudes off the field. The team thinks very highly of the USPL events that they have played in. The organization is well run and the events are fun to play according to the team.

The plan for next year is to have an east coast division two team playing in the PSP and a west coast line playing either division two or three in the USPL so you can look forward to more of the KGB Mob and their search for the podium on Sunday. You can check out the club on PBnation in the club section. A great bunch of guys who I have talked to from time to time, friendly and very knowledgeable about this game we all love to spend countless amounts of cash on.

Get out and play!
