Tippmann has made other "Rec" level markers before that could be compared to being to being speedball friendly. But having the durability and reliability of a Tippmann at the entry level with a tourney look might just grab the attention of some new school paintballers and we love to get new people in the industry!!

We have our own opinions at RDP.

First, it is a great feature for selling as we now have a store and I can tell you first hand this happens almost every day.  Dad comes in with son.  Dad has and always will use a Tippmann.  Son is convinced on Tippmann but does not want to carry around a 7 pound A5 Stealth or even have anything to do with a military looking gun.  The choices are then Spyder....Dad hates spyder...what is a kid to do?

The price point is another totally entry level deal with Tippmann.  No money in these for dealers, however, totally aimed at getting another player on the fields or woods.  While we cannot make margin on these units, with a free pass to our field, we will make it somewhere....IE admission, all day air, paint and so on.  This is the goal and as paintball has hurt over the last few years, players are what will keep the industry alive.  So in that sense, I have to agree with Tippmann's calculated move on these.

That marker is more of Tippmann placing their own beginner marker on the market, rather than entering the branch of speedball markers. It may have the sleek design leaning towards speedball, but other than that, its a Tippmann. This means reliability, which is what new players would look for since they typically never strip down their markers.

I think it will help get new players on the field. Tippmann already has a very strong line of products, so theres a good chance that this marker could become quite popular among new players. I'll look into it later on, might have to recommend it to any new players we bring in.

Thats basically what it is, Tippmann's version of the Sonix.
