The 'big game' at Fightertown had beautiful weather, most of the terrain was in good condition although some trench bottoms remained slippery. there were by my count about 80 players - roughly half the rumored projections - but it confirms that the total field could certainly handle 120 without becoming cramped (and there's an expansion is planned for this spring.) My group included one young man, not-so-coincidentally another ex-Browncoat, who hadn't been part of anything this big before, and he had a blast especially as I'd loaned him a scenario players vest ! Both General's for this deliberately generic Red vs. Blue game were friends and acquaintances of ours and each other, most of the game was very collegial, as paintball should be. About 80% of the day was fighting to control the flag stations, I ran through a case and a half of paint but some players shot considerably more. My group enjoyed a real mix of play and worked all the field, we started each round together bolting to our assigned target but as we recycled we'd each "move to the sound of the guns" and work with whomever we could to advance our side - freed from the constraints of plodding Browncoat-style 'leadership' my buddies were tigers !
Tactical aggressiveness is an attribute we'll want to nourish in our new team and it looks like we have an excellent foundation.
